Who we are & What We Do
CALFIL DEVELOPMENTAL TRUST is a registered organization established with the aim of significantly reducing crime rate in Zimbabwe. It seeks to do this by:
i. catering to the educational needs of prison inmates
ii. mentally toughening them so that they do not reoffend once they are released
iii. keeping their children away from a life of vice such as gangs, drug abuse and hate crime by providing the necessary support to keep them in school
iv. providing their families with support through food and basic needs so as to maintain their dignity within their communities
v. Providing support to remaining guardians/parents to help them be self-sufficient so that they do not end up in a life of poverty or living on the streets.

Our mission is to significantly lower levels of crime in Zimbabwe by reducing reoffending by inmates upon their release. We also seek to do this by encouraging positive life choices among their children through education, support and advocacy. By so doing, we also aim to prevent exploitation and sexual abuse of women and girls in these families.
